FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about synastry, composite charts, compatibility scores, birth time, saved charts, ads, and privacy.
How does synastry work?
Synastry compares two natal charts and looks at how one person's planets connect with the other person's planets and houses. In StarFable, the main focus is on major aspects like conjunctions, trines, sextiles, squares, and oppositions because those patterns are usually the easiest to feel and describe.
What is a composite chart?
A composite chart is built from the midpoints between two birth charts. Instead of describing either person alone, it describes the relationship as its own shared pattern. Synastry shows how two people affect each other; the composite chart shows what the relationship tends to become when they are together.
How are compatibility scores calculated?
Scores are algorithmic summaries based on aspect type, orb tightness, and planet significance. Harmonious aspects raise the relevant categories, challenging aspects add friction, and tighter aspects carry more weight than loose ones. The scores are meant to summarize the chart, not decide the value of a relationship.
Why does birth time matter?
Birth time can change the Ascendant, house placements, and the Moon's exact degree. Those details matter in relationship astrology because they shape emotional timing, house overlays, and some of the strongest chart angles. If you do not know the exact time, use your best estimate and read the result as less precise.
What if one person does not know their birth time?
You can still learn from the planetary aspects, especially Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The most time-sensitive pieces, especially houses, Ascendant, and sometimes Moon details, should be treated with more caution.
Are challenging aspects bad?
No. Squares and oppositions often show pressure, difference, attraction, growth, or recurring misunderstandings. They can be difficult, but they can also make a connection feel alive and important. StarFable describes challenging aspects as patterns that need more care, not as automatic dealbreakers.
Can astrology tell me if a relationship will work?
No chart can promise that. A relationship depends on timing, maturity, communication, safety, consent, values, and the choices both people make. Astrology can help name patterns, but it should never replace direct conversation or practical judgment.
How is birth data handled?
Birth data is used to calculate chart results. You can run a chart as a guest without saving it. If you create an account and save a chart pair, the saved chart data is stored so you can revisit it, manage your library, and use shareable result links.
Who can see a saved chart?
Your saved chart library is tied to your account. A shared result URL can be viewed by anyone who has the link, so only share chart links with people you are comfortable showing the result to.
What happens when I join the newsletter?
StarFable stores the email address you submit so we can send occasional relationship astrology notes manually in the future. We are not currently running an automated weekly email system.
Why do I see ads or a consent message?
StarFable uses Google AdSense to support the site. Visitors in some regions may see a consent message before personalized ads or related measurement technologies are used. You can read more in the Privacy Policy.
